John Deere Mail Box

Hay raining today so lets make ourselves a John Deere Mail Box-I went to Lowes and found a steel mail box for 13-bucks-while there i checked paint dept. and found john deere green paint (spray )-5-bucks-went on ebay and found john deere stickers-sprayed mail box with a light coat then after about 6 hours sprayed with a haver coat-buy doing it this way you will not get any runs in paint-well it took 3 days for the stickers to cime in the mail-each sticker cost 2-bucks-i placed stickers on mail box and then sprayed a light coat of acrylic lacqure over stickers to put a seal on them.this is a fun project-and your friends will ask where you got it. this hole project cost about 25-bucks-not bad when they sell on ebay for 99.00.any questions you can email me-see ya Dave

what new

Hi everyone-well its been a long time but here is a table and benches i found at a flea market-when i saw this set I said this would look good in a cherry color-only gave 60.00 for it.it was blond and i made it cherry-what do ya think-well did not take much to do -just light sanding with 120 sand paper and stained with midwax stain(red mahocany#225) i love this color.after the stain dries i apply 2 or 3 coats of high gloss lacqure-i like the finish it gives-brings out the grain in the wood.i will try to post more items-i get things to redo and i forget to take pictures and my wife ask me why i did not post-well ill try to do better. see ya Dave

                                                                        

1940;s bed made into a bench

Had a lady call me after seeing my blog and asked if i would make a bench out of her mothers bed-see her mother passed on and she wanted a keep sake.well here it is.

1800;s bed made into a bench

Hay here is another one-this is a 1800,s bed that i found at a auction-I think this one is cool.check it out.O-by the way have 6 benches made in my shop -think it time to run thru craigslist-running out of room.

Transform-pedal-ride

Ha found this old pedal ride a auction for 8 bucks-so lets make it into a john deere ride.Step one took all apart-this is were you find that you may have to go and buy new bolts and screws.I was lucky -not much rust -so i used wd-40-worked good.After taking all the pices and cleaned with soap and water.{let dry for 1 day]- Went to lowes and got 1 spray can of john-deere green and 1 can yellow.took the pices and painted them-[LET-DRY FOR 2 DAYS]-Put back together and here it is-total cost with paint 17.00.-not bad-let me know what you think-Super Dave

Bench created out of twin bed #2

Hay found this twin bed at a yard sale for 10 bucks and made it in to a bench.total cost with making seat and paint 50 bucks.what do you think-Dave

Bench created out of queen bed

Hello back again.Well the holidays are over and time to have some fun. I found these head and foot boards at goodwill for 25 .00 dollars. this bench took about 12 hours to make. I took the foot board and cut it 22in. wide-this will make the seat part 18in. wide.  I went to home depot and picked up 2 -6in. by 10ft. pine boards and 1-4in.by 8ft.boards.These are needed to make the seat.I mounted the two side panels to  the head board with 2in drywall screws. I then cut my 6by10 and my 4by8 -55ins long. I mounted these these between the side panels.After every thing was assembled I painted it flat black.I think it came out pretty good. Total cost for every thing was 55.00 dollars. NOT BAD.
